On Saturday 9th June 2007 at 10am the
new
Sterzing, Freienfeld & Wiesen-Pfitsch Nordic Walking Park
was opened at St. Jakob in Pfitsch in the presence of the regional minister for tourism, Dr. Thomas Widmann. The President of the Tourism Association, Dr. Helmut Messner, and the President of the Wipptal District Association, Leopold Siller, welcomed the Grand Opening guests and around 30 pupils from the Junior School in Pfitsch with yoghurt drinks from the Sterzing Dairy together with healthy juices to fortify them for the ensuing tour. After the presentation of the park, which includes 12 routes in the Tourist Association area with an overall length of around 60km, and was brought about as part of a Leader+ project, the opening ribbon was officially cut.
